FESTIVAL EVENTS  11-13 JULY

Monday 11 July:

·                    Sure Start sponsored Summer Gardening Project at Vauxhall City Farm. Tyers St. 10am-4pm.

·                    Politics & Culture. Paul Robeson in the UK. Talk by Sean Creighton.  Roots & Shoots, entrance in Fitzalan St. 7pm

Tuesday 12 July:

·                    Drama Workshop. Open to all ages 17 upwards. Led by Dan Styles. Ethelred Youth Club, 11 Lollard St. 5-7pm

·                    Introductory Computer Learning Session. Riverside IT, 125 Lambeth Walk. 5-7pm

·                    African Civilisations. When We Ruled: A visual journey through thousands of years of Black History. Talk by Robin Walker. Durning Library, Kennington Lane. 7pm

·                    ‘Too Desperate for Words’. Comedy Sketches by the 21st Century Vixens. Dog House Pub, Kennington Cross. 9.30pm.

Wednesday 13 July:

·                    Sure Start Portuguese Party. 121-123 Lambeth Walk. 3-7pm

·                    Tai Chi Introductory Class. Kennington Park Community Centre. 8 Harleyford St. 7-9pm

·                    ‘Too Desperate for Words’. Comedy Sketches by the 21st Century Vixens. Dog House Pub, Kennington Cross. 9.30pm.

Each of the Three Days:

·                    Cloud and Vision – William Blake in Lambeth. 10.30am-5pm. Museum of Garden History, Lambeth Palace Rd

·                    The YHA at 75. 11am-10pm. Camera Club, 16 Bowden St

·                    Community Impact Projects. All Nations Centre local estate renovation and gardening activities.

RCDT SEEKS NEW BOARD MEMBERS

 

RCDT is looking to recruit new members to its Board. Local residents, workers, organisations and businesses are all eligible to become members of RCDT. For further details contact the RCDT office. The Trust is entering a period of expanded activity with the development of a community resource area at 20 Newburn St, expansion of activities at Riverside IT, and the proposed development of an arts/heritage/event space in the Kennington Cross disused Grade II listed toilets. BLACK HISTORY FREE   T  ALKS AND WALK

Max Boucher has put together a special flier to promote the Black History Talks and Walk which comprise the two events on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 July, and the UK Black History on the Web session on Monday 18 July and the Vauxhall Black History Walk on Saturday 23 July. A copy can be emailed or copies provided if you want to display them. Contact Sean at the Festival Office.
